Overview

Sorcerers are masters of destructive, offensive and aggressive magic. They have access to a vast array of combat spells and command the powers of fire, energy and death, which they can use to deal impressive damage to multiple enemies at once. Thanks to their quick advancement in magic level, they can also cast powerful healing spells, but unlike druids, they cannot heal others without healing runes.

Because of their focus on the training of the mind, they are physically weaker than knights and paladins, and as such, have little physical strength to carry items and equipment.

Benefits

  • A good choice for those who want to play alone most of the time
  • Various elemental spell effects make for an interesting, colorful gameplay
  • Sorcerers are capable of dealing several types of damage effectively and can easily adapt to elemental weaknesses of different monsters. That allows them to hunt pretty much everywhere
  • Strong damage output in every situation, both single- and multi-target
  • Can use Magic Shield to drastically increase survivability at the cost of more mana potions spent
  • Fastest advancement in magic level (same as druids)
  • Largest mana pool and fastest regeneration (same as druids)
  • Can make many different types of offensive runes, including Sudden Death, the strongest runes that deal damage to a single target
  • Can use all runes, except three: Paralyze, Wild Growth and Holy Missile
  • Sorcerers' ultimate spells, Rage of the Skies and Hell's Core, deal more damage than their druid counterparts (Wrath of Nature and
  • Eternal Winter respectively). Rage of the Skies also has a lower mana cost than Wrath of Nature
  • Just like druids, sorcerers can summon different creatures to aid them in combat

Drawbacks

  • Weak in terms of defense, sorcerers must maintain distance from their enemies while casting spells and shooting runes. Sometimes, that is difficult and some people might not enjoy such a gameplay
  • Not the best choice for hunting for profit due to the cost of runes and low carrying capacity
  • Lowest amount of hitpoints and slowest regeneration (same as druids)
  • Slowest advancement in shielding and melee skills (same as druids)
  • Lowest capacity (same as druids)
  • Cannot make healing runes
  • Unlike druids, sorcerers cannot learn Heal Friend or Mass Healing

Advancement and regeneration

After advancing to the next level, every player receives an increase in capacity, maximum hitpoints and maximum mana. Sorcerers gain:

  • 10 oz of capacity
  • 5 hitpoints
  • 30 mana

Regeneration

As time passes, every player will regenerate lost hitpoints and mana, as long as they have eaten recently. Sorcerers regenerate:

  • 1 hitpoint every 12 seconds
  • 2 mana every 3 seconds

Master sorcerers regenerate:

  • 1 hitpoint every 12 seconds
  • 2 mana every 2 seconds

Promotion

When a sorcerer reaches level 20, they can purchase a promotion and become a master sorcerer with certain benefits.

Tips and tricks

All vocations should use their strengths to their own benefit. For example, it would be pointless for a knight to try and make money selling runes. Instead, use the unique aspects of the vocation to your advantage.

Making money

  • Make and sell runes. Sorcerers can earn a lot of gold by making and selling various kinds of runes, mainly Great Fireball, Thunderstorm and Sudden Death. It is also a good method of training magic level.
  • Offer a Hell's Core or Rage of the Skies service. Since sorcerers have very strong attack spells, when you reach the level requirement for Hell's Core or Rage of the Skies, you will become very valuable on a large hunt or quest. With a high magic level it is possible to kill a Dragon with one cast of Rage of the Skies, and the spell will damage all creatures in a large area.
  • Summon creatures for others to convince. You can charge a fee for summoning creatures for a paladin to convince. Since paladins cannot cast the Summon Creature spell, you can summon a creature for them and if they have enough mana, they can use a Convince Creature rune to take control over it and use it to help them hunt.

Gaining experience

  • Hunt with a blocker. This way you can hunt stronger creatures that you would not normally be able to take on alone. Remember that you will likely have to pay the blocker for their services, but you will gain more experience than would otherwise be possible.
  • Hunt with summoned creatures. When hunting with summons, you do not need to use as many |runes, and you can stay in your hunting area longer because you will not be spending as much mana with your wand.
  • Use the defensive fighting mode all the time. It does not affect your magical damage output, but causes you to take less damage from physical attacks.
  • Use your surroundings to your advantage. Since wands have a shorter attack range than a paladin's ranged weapons, sorcerers should use trees, stairs and other obstacles to help maintain distance from strong creatures. With some practice, you will be able to fight strong creatures without taking a lot of damage.

Advancing your skills

Magic level:

  • Use instant combat spells while hunting. It is the best way to train magic level for any class. Try to focus on instant spells instead of using runes to maximize magic level advancement.
  • Avoid having full mana. Your magic level advances by spending mana to cast spells. Every second with full mana could potentially be spent training your magic level.
  • Spend as little time as possible in protection zones. The exception to this rule is if you have a daily reward streak of at least 3 days. You will then regenerate mana inside resting areas such as depots, temples and houses.
  • Always eat. Make sure you have access to food at all times. If you run out of food, you will not be able to regenerate mana.
  • Don't use Magic Shield if you don't need to. Mana spent blocking damage through Magic Shield does not raise your magic level. If you are not in danger of dying, use healing spells instead.
  • Sleep in a bed. If you are a Premium Account player, it's strongly recommended to put your sorcerer to sleep with a full stomach when you're not playing. This will grant you "free" mana that you otherwise wouldn't regenerate offline. It might not seem like much, but doing this constantly will be really helpful for your magic level.
